Things to Consider When Looking at Medicare 2019 Premiums
In year 2016, millions of Medicare enrollees saw their 2016 Medicare premiums jump from $104.90 to $159.30, a stunning 52-percent increase. However, most of Medicare’s 55 million beneficiaries – about 70 percent will not experience this big one-year jump in their Medicare premiums.
In 2017, the Medicare premium will go back down to $120.70, and then gradually increase in the coming years. It will not surpass the 2016 level until 2023, when the standard monthly Part B premium is estimated to reach $164.50, under their intermediate assumptions.
